Since 2001 mgi has focused on assisting Small and Medium Businesses (SMB's), both established and start-up. Following a 25 year career with small enterprises from 3 to 103 people, and some larger public corporations, Mark's vision settled on SMB's. In 2001 he became a Certified Mentor with STARTech Early Ventures and began applying his expertise. In 2002 he undertook a full time commitment to turn around a consumer goods company which manufactured pet products in Asia. From 2005 he turned his energies to develop a business advisory service aligned with the business model inspired by the research results of the Institute for Independent Business, and became an Accredited Executive Associate. In 2006 he joined the Eyes of Texas Partners, and began evaluating and mentoring companies applying for the Texas Emerging Technology Fund. Since 2007 he has expanded his angel investing through The InvestIN Forum, the North Texas Angel Network (NTAN), Lone Star Angels (LSA) and the MCG Forum.
