Biography

Mark Gluck is the owner and founder of Mark Gluck International.

Mark has over 30 years experience as a senior executive working with large and small businesses both domestic and internationally. He has experience in all aspects of business operations, especially including: venture and private funding, strategic planning, business development, sales and marketing, and technology development.

He has planned and executed turnaround programs and managed business units and profit centers for small and large companies. Three companies he guided as a senior executive (VP/C level) have had successful exits. The rest, with just 2 exceptions, continue in business.

Mark has years of experience outsourcing manufacturing and developing representation in the Far East, with contacts in Malaysia, China and Hong Kong.

Credentials

Mr. Gluck is an accredited Executive Associate of the Institute for Independent Business (IIB), a not-for-profit accreditation and research organization. The IIB is international in scope and is committed to helping small and medium sized businesses find resources to address and resolve their individual business problems.

The Texas Emerging Technology Fund was created at the request of Governor Perry. The 79th Legislature approved HB1765 which established the Texas Emerging Technology Fund effective September 1, 2005 to fund collaborative efforts between private industry and Texas universities. Mark has served on the review panel for the North Texas RCIC since the first Funding Round.

As a Certified Mentor with STARTech Early Ventures Mark has worked with many start-ups to prepare their business plans and present them for venture or angel investment. STARTech is a seed capital and technology business incubator in Dallas, TX.

Mark serves every year on the screening panel for the World's Best Technology Showcase, and mentors selected presenters.

Mark is called as a guest lecturer to the area's business schools.

Judging the 2006 SMU MBA Business Plan Competition was a fun and rewarding experience.

Mr. Gluck has his MBA from The Rotman School of Management, part of the University of Toronto.
